Membership Types

When you join Westercon 74, you are purchasing a membership, not a ticket, per the Westercon Bylaws. Although some online vending systems for technical reasons use the term “ticket,” Westercon does not sell “tickets” and therefore any reference to “ticket” in an online vending system should be understood to mean “membership” under the Westercon Bylaws. The following classes of membership are available to participate as part of Westercon 74.

At-convention attendance is limited to 450 attending members (including Young Adult and Child members) due to the capacity of the Tonopah Convention Center.

Attending members receive all the rights of supporting members (see below), plus the right to attend the convention, including the right to participate in the Westercon Business Meeting.

After May 1, 2022 and at the door: $70

Advance registration ended June 25, 2022. Memberships must be received by June 25 (postmark date does not count) or they will not be processed.

Single-day memberships: $30/day, available at the door only. At-convention attendance is limited to 450 people due to the capacity of the Tonopah Convention Center. Per the Westercon Bylaws, single-day members get Westercon voting rights applicable on the day they attend, which includes the right to vote on Westercon 76 site selection (Friday-Saturday only) and to participate in the Westercon Business Meeting (Sunday only).

Young Adult (age 13-19 as of July 1, 2022, $30) and Child (age 7-12 as of July 1, 2022, $20) members receive attending membership rights.

Kid-in-Tow (age 5-6 as of July 1, 2022, Free) members must always be under the supervision of an adult, receive no membership rights, and must follow the vaccination and
mask rules for all attendees. Children under 5 may not attend due to our COVID-19 policy.

Supporting members ($20) receive convention publications (electronically by default, or via postal mail upon request) and have the right to participate in the 2024 Westercon (Westercon 76) site selection (subject to paying an additional voting fee) but cannot attend the convention. Anyone who voted in the Westercon 74 Site Selection election held at Westercon 72 in Layton, Utah automatically became a supporting member of Westercon 74. Supporting members may always convert to Attending membership by paying the current cost of an Attending membership minus $20.

Supporting members also have the right to access the virtual program. This includes a series of online panels featuring international guests, and live-streaming of one of our in-person program rooms.
