Westercon

Westercon 74 is the 2022 West Coast Science Fantasy Conference, an annual convention about science fiction and fantasy art, literature, and related subjects. First held in 1948, the convention is held annually in different locations in Western North America or Hawaii. (Except 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.) Each year’s convention is hosted by a different group, which independently organizes their event.

Westercon does not sell “tickets.” To attend the convention, you must purchase an “attending membership,” which gives you the right to attend the convention and also gives you certain rights regarding voting on the rules for running Westercon and choosing the site of the Westercon two years hence. You can also buy a less expensive “supporting membership” that gives you certain voting rights regarding site selection, but does not include the right to attend the convention. Anyone can purchase a membership in Westercon.

For more information about Westercon, including the history, organizational bylaws, and information about past and future Westercons, see the Westercon web site.

“Westercon” and “West Coast Science Fantasy Conference” are service marks of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society, Inc., but LASFS does not operate Westercon, nor does it select where Westercon is held (except in certain unlikely circumstances). Westercon 74 is being operated by San Francisco Science Fiction Conventions, Inc., a California non-profit public benefit corporation recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.
